Manufacturer announces $7M expansion, 65 new jobs

Digital Monitoring Products announced during its 40th anniversary celebration today that the company plans to create 65 new jobs and invest approximately $7 million at its facility in Springfield’s Partnership Industrial Center.

A family-owned company, DMP was established in 1975 and manufactures advanced electronics security and monitoring products that include panels, sensors, other devices and software, and related communication services. The company designs, builds, distributes and supports these products from its Springfield headquarters, selling directly to select alarm companies. As a result of the expansion, DMP will create new, high-quality jobs in manufacturing, engineering and development, and support services in the Springfield region. All of the jobs created will exceed the county average wage.

Chamber economic development staff, City Utilities and City of Springfield officials helped facilitate the expansion project, which includes Enhanced Enterprise Zone incentives from the City of Springfield and Missouri Works incentives from the state.

We are happy to continue to add manufacturing jobs as well as high-tech engineering and software developer positions in southwest Missouri," said Vice President of Product Design for DMP, Jeff Britton. "We look forward to our next 40 years of stability and growth."

DMP’s expansion signals continued growth in the manufacturing sector in the Springfield region. Since last October, this sector grew by 2.7 percent in the Springfield MSA, which accounts for roughly 400 new jobs. Going back five years, that number expands to 22.8 percent or 2,800 net new jobs.
