PRE breaks ground on PIC West Expansion

SPRINGFIELD, MO - Press Room Equipment (PRE), a manufacturer of press feeding and coil handling equipment, is expanding in Springfield with a $6.5 million investment that adds 10 new jobs to its current workforce. The company will relocate into a newly built 32,000-square-foot facility, boosting production and reinforcing its long-term commitment to Southwest Missouri.

Originally relocating from Rhode Island in 1991, PRE has found long-term success in Springfield’s central location and pro-business environment.

“The PRE team is so grateful to be a part of The Bradbury Group and the support they have given to our growing company,” said Gary Moore, General Manager of Press Room Equipment. “We are leaving a building we have called home since 1991 and moving into a facility that is not only 60% larger but is brand new and designed to fit our workflow in the most efficient manner. We can’t wait to see what the next 40 years hold for PRE.”.

Now as part of The Bradbury Group, the company is deepening its roots in the region.

“When we met the team at PRE, it was clear that our shared values made them a natural fit for our Group,” said David Cox, CEO of The Bradbury Group. “Our investment in PRE and expansion in Springfield capitalize on the region’s growing technical labor market. A skilled workforce is essential to our Group of companies, and by partnering with Ozarks Technical Community College, the City of Springfield, and the team at PRE, we are strengthening our ability to achieve our 2028 strategic priorities: Focus on Our Core, Expand Our Solutions, and Live Our Values.”

Chamber staff has worked with PRE since May 2024 to help identify an ideal expansion site and connect the company with local and state resources to support its growth.

“This expansion underscores what we know to be true about Springfield—our community is an ideal place for manufacturing companies to invest and grow,” said Matt Morrow, president of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. “The decision by Bradbury Group and PRE to expand here rather than relocate affirms our region’s skilled workforce, collaborative business climate, and unmatched support for industry growth.”

Site H marks the fifth project announced in PIC West in the past 18 months. In 2024 alone, more than 105 acres in the industrial park were sold by the Springfield Business Development Corporation. Roughly 65 acres remain available.

PRE will benefit from the Missouri Works program and Springfield’s Enhanced Enterprise Zone—two tools that help support job creation and capital investment.

With over 40 years of industry experience, PRE designs and manufactures advanced press-feeding systems, straighteners, cut-to-length machines, and other custom coil-handling equipment.
