See who took home the 2015 Small Business Award
The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce announced All About Trees, LLC as the 2015 Small Business Award recipient during its annual award event on May 6.
All About Trees is a locally owned, full-service tree care company serving a 20-mile radius around the Springfield area. Their services include tree pruning and trimming, tree removal, planting, stump grinding, cabling and bracing, shrub trimming, and consultation.
The company started in 1993 under the name of A&A Tree Service, but underwent a rebranding in 2009, making the shift to All About Trees, LLC. Owner Noel Boyer bought the company in 2005 and is a certified arborist with 20 years of experience in tree care.
“I made every phone call, gave every bid, sold every job we got, climbed every tree and cleaned it all up,” Boyer said in regard to the first years that he owned the business.
“By 2010, we had built a great core of certified arborists on the crews, purchased enough service equipment to allow for growth, developed a strong marketing strategy and built our company’s structure so we were functioning much more smoothly.”
Boyer attributes this planning to the steady growth that the company has seen over the last ten years.
The Small Business Award celebrates the success of the Chamber’s small business members and recognizes the important role small businesses and entrepreneurs play in the local economy.
It is presented by the Chamber’s Small Business Council and is determined by written applications scored by an independent panel of judges. The judges include the previous year’s recipient, two business professionals as selected by the Small Business Council, and two local business assistance providers. The application consists of written essays covering company history, management philosophy, response to challenges, innovative products or services and community-oriented contributions.
