Dake Wells Architecture receives prestigious 2024 Small Business Award
Dake Wells Architecture, a local architecture firm known for its innovative designs and community focus, has been named the recipient of the 2024 W. Curtis Strube Small Business Award by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 2004, in a foundation of curiosity, ingenuity and a love for its craft, Dake Wells Architecture has quickly grown into a respected leader in the Springfield architecture scene. The firm’s commitment to these core values is evident in its projects, which consistently push the boundaries of design while remaining sensitive to the community’s needs.

The W. Curtis Strube Small Business Award recognizes outstanding small businesses within the Chamber of Commerce. Chosen from a competitive pool of finalist including 417 Magazine, Ireland Architects, Ozark Empire Fairgrounds & Event Center, Volt Credit Union and Dake Wells Architecture. Dake Wells Architecture impressed the judges with its unique approach to design, commitment to community engagement and impressive growth trajectory.
Honorees are determined by consideration of written applications that include essays on company history, management philosophy, responses to challenges, innovation in product and service offerings, and contributions to the community. Applications are scored by an independent panel of judges, consisting of previous recipients, local business experts and volunteers from the Chamber’s Small Business Council.
This award, presented by the Chamber’s Small Business Council since 1992, celebrates the success of the organization’s small business members and recognizes the important role small businesses and entrepreneurs play in the local economy. More than 80 percent of Chamber members have 50 or fewer employees. Dake Wells Architecture’s win is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team.
The Small Business Award event also featured keynote speaker Jackie Stiles, the renowned former Missouri State women’s basketball player and entrepreneur who spoke on the importance of hard work, determination and self-belief.
