Small Business Spotlight – March 2018: Century 21 Integrity Group
Company name: Century 21 Integrity Group
Person in charge: Angie Mullings, Broker/Owner
Year founded: 2007
Describe what your organization provides for its customers:
We take great pride in providing a very personalized real estate experience for our clients. From the first time we have a conversation with a client all the way through closing, we are guiding, educating and communicating. Our industry is constantly changing, and it’s imperative that we stay current on those changes to ensure our clients have the optimum experience.
Give us a brief history of your business and what makes it unique:
In 2007, I purchased the office from my broker who was retiring. I had 13 years experience as an agent so it was a natural progression for me to step into the broker role. In 2010, we relocated to our current location on Republic Road, and three years later we added a Branson location. There a couple of things that make us unique. First of all, I am very selective about the agents that I bring on. I’m looking for a particular individual that is highly focused on customer service and education. I want every client to feel that they are special to us and that their business is very much appreciated. I only accept agents who are committed to providing that for our clients. Second, I believe we have an obligation to educate. We provide pre-listing consult visits to inform and educate our clients on the process and how to prepare their home to list. We offer a monthly "Careers and Coffee" session that is open to anyone thinking about the real estate industry as a career. I want people to be well informed about what REALTORS actually do not just what they see on HGTV.
What’s the most exciting recent highlight for your business?
It just happened! After 47 years, Century 21 just rebranded and it is exciting! We just got a look at the new logo, marketing plan, mission and vision statement. "Defy Mediocrity" is right in our mission statement now, and that is right on track with my business philosophy. We’ll be able to utilize all of the new branding in our new location and marketing. The timing couldn’t be better.
Where do you hope to see your business in 12 months?
We are busting at the seams in our current location. My primary focus in the next 12 months will be to find a new location for us to grow and be the go-to source for all things real estate.
What advice would you offer to someone starting their own small business?
If you dream of being an entrepreneur, then make it happen. Don’t make excuses and don’t wait for everything to be perfect; perfection will never happen, so just take the leap. You need to have a plan, but be flexible and adaptable. You won’t have all the answers when you start, so listen and absorb so you can make informed decisions.
