Describe what areas of law your firm provides:
The attorneys at Law Office of Sativa Boatman-Sloan are passionate about helping our clients with their legal needs in the areas of Business Law, Estate Planning, Probate and Elder Law including nursing home planning.
What is your mission?
We give our clients peace of mind and education, so they can control their future.
What is the most important thing for people to know about estate planning?
Avoiding probate can make things easier on your family after you are gone. Most people don’t understand that wills do not avoid probate.
How do you help with that?
At our Law Firm, we can show you how to plan ahead for your family and avoid probate.
What do people need to know about nursing home planning?
Considering the possibility of going into a nursing home does not mean you have to spend your life savings paying for it. The attorneys at my law firm have strategies for planning in advance, but we also have ways to protect assets even if someone is going to a nursing home in a last minute crisis circumstance.
What advice would you offer to someone starting their own small business?
If you are an LLC, you need an Operating Agreement. There is no other way to prove who actually owns the company and the guidelines legally set up for its operation. You also need to prepare the proper paperwork to ensure your business does not end up in probate when you die and that someone can sign for you if you become temporarily or permanently incapacitated.
